Robert Vahl Gene "Bob" Lloyd, 80, of Green Castle, Missouri, died Saturday morning, June 29, 2013 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The son of Virgil and Velma (Robison) Lloyd, he was born March 7, 1933 in Putnam County, Missouri.
He is survived by two sons, Richard of Edinboro, Pennsylvania and Roger of Albia, Iowa; one granddaughter; one sister Margaret, of Green Castle; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son
Robert Vahl Gene Lloyd Jr and one brother Loren "Buck" Lloyd.
Bob spent most of his life in Putnam County. He was employed by Oscar Meyer in Davenport, Iowa for 36 years. He also farmed and raised cattle. He liked to fish.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri with Rev. Andy Coon officiating. Burial will follow in the Lipp Cemetery north of Green Castle. Casket bearers are Roger Lloyd, Richard Lloyd, Steve Lloyd, Rocky Lloyd, Jan Peterman, and Ryan Peterman. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home.
