Sabattus- Irene L. (Fontaine) Gehm 79, of Venice FL. died Tuesday February 7, 2012, at her daughters residence in Sabattus, with her loving family at her side, after a long illness. She was born in Lewiston on April 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Leo and Imelda (Lemay) Ouellette. Irene's career consisted of 25 years in the medical field, retiring in 1991, to move to Florida, where she belonged to The Even Keels club which is part of The South Venice Yacht Club. She enjoyed being with her family, and spending time at Florida's Casinos and bingo halls. She leaves her children Jean Roane and her husband Tom of Sabattus, Linda McLellan and her husband Randy of Prentiss Township, and Anthony Fontaine and his wife Lisa of Lewiston, two brothers, Larry and Armand Ouellette both of Lewiston, 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two husbands Leon Fontaine and Hans Gehm, a sister Jackie Ouellette and a brother Fern Ouelette. The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, Dr. Daniel Rausch, and grand daughter in law Shelly Murphy for their loving care and help through this tough time. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 1 PM at Pathway Vineyard Church. Committal will be held in the spring at Leeds Center Cemetery.
