Mr. Dammann, age 88 years, passed away July 12, 2013 at Bay Special Care Hospital. He was born in Saginaw on December 7, 1924 to the late Ernest and Alma (Wedding) Dammann. Robert served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from Consumers Power Co. as a supervisor. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

On December 12, 1947, he married the former Patricia Shively and she survives him. He also leaves 4 children: Rosalie (James) Wielinski, Linda (Patrick) Kruskie, Becky (Pete) Walraven and Rob (Sheila) Dammann, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a sister, Nora Weir and a brother, Ernie (Bev) Dammann.

Funeral service will be on Monday, July 15, 2013 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carl F. Trosien will officiate with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Military Rites at the cemetery will be under the direction of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. He will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
