Funeral services for John Adams Jr., 64, of Blessing will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday at Church of God of Prophecy, Palacios, with Bishop H. N. Hartsfield. Burial will be in Wilson Creek Cemetery, El Maton.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City. A wake will be held from 7 to 9 p. m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Adams was born July 28, 1923, to John Adams Sr. and Seawillow Moore and died Sept. 1, 1987, at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home, Palacios.

He was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Ruth Adams; three daughters, Carol of Huntsville, Bonnie of Houston and Julia of Palacios; a son, John Anthony of Blessing; his father, John Adams Sr. of Palacios; five sisters, Severa Martinez of Palacios, Elrose Gordon of San Antonio, Othella Lute and Gloria Glover of Houston, and Ruby Jean Adams of Washington; three brothers, Elvin Adams of LaWard, Antone Adams of San Antonio and Henry Adams of Washington.

Pallbearers Leland Jackson, Ben Hadden, Earcel Hadden, Freddie Jackson, Larry Deadrick and Clifton Edwards.

Honorary pallbearers include Earcel Mark Hadden, Freddie Jackson, Chencho Garcia, Darrell Harvey Hadden, Pat Garcia and Charlie Rivers.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home, Bay City.
