Funeral service for Jacqueline Ann Alexander was July 16, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Salem. Interment was in North Lawn Cemetery.
Ms. Alexander was born Aug. 13, 1959 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Loyola and Jean (Butler) Sommer. She was the mother of two sons. Ms. Alexander died July 12, 2005 at the age of 45 years and 11 months.
Survivors include her mother, Jean Sommer, Salem; two sons, William Alexander, Columbia; Dewey Alexander, Salem; one brother, Miles Sommer and wife, Lori, Salem; two sisters, Judith Sommer, Columbia; Jennifer O’Day and husband, Gary, Salem; aunt and uncle, Barbara and Michael Helm, Salem; and special friend, Julie Licis, Springfield.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Ms. Alexander earned her degree in education. She had received a B.A. in English, a M.A. in Education and a special degree in Library Science. Ms. Alexander spent her high school teaching career in Salem and Viburnum. She also taught at Southwest Baptist University and Columbia College.
