Marilyn Ruth Nickel, 83, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Marilyn taught kindergarten in Conordia, Kan. schools for over 36 years. She was also a lifelong member of the Concordia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Lydia (Schroeder) Rolfs; her husband, Noel Nickel; siblings Arlene, LaVerne, Melvin and Ron; and a nephew, David.
Survivors include her children, Sherry Roepke (Randy) of Tullohoma, Tenn., and Lynnette Spencer (Jim) of Wichita; a sister, Lois Slabach of Clearwater; a brother, Merle Rolfs of Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Tara Gwynn (Tim) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Krista Spencer of Wichita, Dr. Jarod Spencer of Hollywood, Fla., Kellee and Gunnar Roepke of Tullohoma, Tenn., Matthew Roepke of Manhattan.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22, at Lorraine Cemetery in Lorraine.
