E. G. BENNETT, TAXI DRIVER, DEAD AT 53
Edward G. Bennett, 53, of Delanson, a self-exmployed taxi driver, died yesterday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Albany.
Born at Glens Falls, he had spent most of his life at Delanson. Before driving a taxi, Mr. Bennett had operated, until two years ago, the Delanson Dry-Cleaners.
He was a member of the Duanesburg Democratic Club, the Clark White post, American Legion of Preston Hollow and the Senior Citizens of Duanesburg. Mr. Bennett was an army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Jane Bennett; a daughter, Barbara Jane Bennett of Albany; a stepson, Gifford V. Rector of Delanson; a step-daughter, Laurie Jane Rector of Delanson; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Barrett of Schenectady and Mrs. Ethel Burch of Glens Falls and a brother, Charles Bennett of Glens Falls.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. monday at the White funeral home, Delanson. Burial will be in Memory's Garden. The funeral home will be open tomorrow afternoon and evening. [From Schenectady Gazette, Schenectady, N. Y. - Saturday, January 16, 1965, pg. #14]
