Eleanor M. Anderson, 71, of the Town of Sioux Creek, Wis., died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1930, to John and Marie (Gasper) Hellman in the Town of Arland, Wis. The family later moved to Barron where she graduated from Barron High School in 1948. After high school, Eleanor worked in the office for the Barron County Highway Department. On Feb. 19, 1955, she was married to Harold Anderson in Barron, and they farmed in the Town of Sioux Creek for 47 years. She worked at the Bank of Dallas for 12 years and was the Sioux Creek Town Clerk for 27 years. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek where she sang in the choir and was a CCD teacher. She was also a 4-H leader for 30 years. She played the accordion in Little Harolds Norseman Polka Band, enjoyed sewing and working in her flower garden. Family was also very important to her, and she especially liked to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters Melanie (Gerald) Donath of Sand Creek, Julie Dalen of the Town of Sioux Creek, Mary Jo (Randy) Moen of the Town of Sioux Creek and Jodi (Jeff) Zivic of Colfax; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Margie Ludke of Crystal River, Fla., and Dorothy Schullo of Cumberland; as well as many nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, Aug. 16, from St. Boniface Catholic Church in Chetek with Father Gerard Willger officiating and interment in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Sioux Creek.
