MANHATTAN Kathryn L. Whitley, 84, of Manhattan, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born on Sept. 26, 1920, in Manhattan, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (McConnell) Jolley. Kathryn was the administrator of the Leonardville Nursing Home for 18 years, and was in the nursing home profession for 52 years. She is survived by her three children, Linda Pease and her husband, Larry, Topeka, Sharon Langvardt and her husband, Alan, Beatrice, NE, and Stan Whitley and his wife, Jennifer, Topeka; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Alan and Karen Selig officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ymlfuneralhome.com.
