On Saturday, May 18, 1985, of Hughesville, Md., beloved husband of Jessie R. Beuchert; father of Jerome Joseph Beuchert Jr., John D. Beuchert, George A. Beuchert, Richard Timothy Beuchert and Catherine E. ‘Katie" Beuchert; brother of Catherine C. Collins. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jerome J. III, Cynthia M and Lawrence R. Beuchert, Mary Christine, Marie Constance and Daniel Michael Beuchert, Laura and Holly Mattio, and Stacy Denise Beuchert.
Friends may call on Monday, from 7 to 9 p. m., and Tuesday from 9 a.m to 9 p. m., at the AREHART FUNERAL HOME, INC., 211 St. Mary's Ave., LaPlata, Md., where prayers will be said at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 22, at 11 a. m., at st. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, Md. Interment church cemetery.

Jerome Beuchert, 69, ran cafeteria at PO
Jerome Joseph Beuchert Sr, 69, who for 41 years helped manage the Washington Society for the Blind cafeteria at the main District post office on N. Capitol Street, died Saturday in Physicians Memorial Hospital in La Plata, Md, after a heart attack. He lived in Hughesville Md. Mr. Beuchert was a founding member and former president of the Washington Society for the Blind, a member of The National Society for the Blind and a member of the Maryland Saddle Association and the Free State Riding Club.
A native of Washington, Mr. Beuchert lived in Hughesville for the last 25 years. Legally blind since early childhood, he attended Columbia Polytechnic Institute for the Blind before beginning work at the post office cafeteria in 1937. He retired in 1978 and devoted his time to raising horses.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Richards Beuchert; a daughter Katie Beuchert; and four sons, Jerome Joseph Jr, George A. and Richard Timothy, all of Hughesville, and John D., of LaPlata; a sister, Catherine C. Collins, also of Hughesville and six grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m today in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bryantown, Md., with burial in church cemetery.
