Jeanne S. Larson, 86, of Whitewater, formerly of Fort Atkinson, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Hearthstone Memory Care in Whitewater. Jeanne was born on Jan. 4, 1926, in Lodi, daughter of the late George and Alice (Richards) Skarda. She married Donald Larson on April 23, 1949 in Lodi. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1993.

Jeanne worked at the Fort Atkinson Hospital for 41 years as a surgical nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had also been a member of the Fort Atkinson Lioness Club. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, walking and traveling. She was loved by one and all for her joyous spirit.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (John) Taylor of Hudson, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Sharon Larson of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren, Clayton (Carrie) Larson of Edgerton, Travis (Abby) Larson of Edgerton, Patrick Taylor of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Megan Taylor of Lakewood, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Ruthie Larson and Devon Witt all of Edgerton; sister, Mary Devine of Madison; special friend, Lloyd Hansen of Whitewater; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Steven and Douglas Larson; brothers, Donald and Hugh Skarda; and sisters, Dorothy Lueck and Arlene Wopat.
