Chester was born in Garfield, Minnesota, on October 4, 1932, the son of Arthur and Clara (Pomeranz) Klug. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church of Garfield. Chester served his country with the U. S. Army from 1952-1954 in Korea. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Johnson on July 30, 1955 at Lake Reno Catholic Church. After their marriage they moved to Minneapolis which has been home for the past twenty eight years. Mr. Klug was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church and James Ballentine VFW Post 246 of Minneapolis. Chester died at his home on Monday November 28, 1983. He is survived by his wife Lorraine; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Julie) Shea of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Jodi Klug of home; two sons, Steven and his wife Carol of Minneapolis; Timothy of Minneapolis, grandsons; father, Arthur Klug of Alexandria; one brother Palmer Klug of Williston, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1974. Funeral service was held on Thursday, December 1, 1983, 9:30 A.M. at Lebanon Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota with Rev. Robert England officiating. The organist was Mrs. Robert Nelson. Graveside service was held on December 1, 1983 at 3:30 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Alexandria with Rev. Robert Bruske officiating. Local arrangements were with the Alexandria Funeral Home.
