On July 26, 1947 Bob was baptized. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He moved to Chicago in 1953 and married Harriet E. Ladage on September 3, 1955. To this union four children were born. He worked as a mechanical engineer in the private sector until his retirement. Bob served on the school board and was very involved in the Lutheran school and church. Harriet preceded Bob in death on February 14, 2000.
On June 24, 2006, Bob was united in marriage to Katie L. (Wolfe) Mabe. He was a well-loved member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Katie Diekhoff of Nixa, his four children, Karen Schaller and husband Michael, Paul Diekhoff, Philip Diekhoff, and Diana Frost and husband Jim; six grandchildren, Stephanie Pendergrass and husband Matt, Kimberly Schaller, and Jacob, Nicholas, Bethany and Lydia Frost; and a great grandchild, Tyler Pendergrass.
In addition to his parents and his first wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Diekhoff and a great grandchild, Nate.
Burial in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens.
