J.B., 82, lost his valiant fight against Leukemia. A native of Winnsboro, Texas, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Returning to Texas, he got his accounting degree at East Texas State University.
And was hired by Magnolia Petroleum Company (Later, Mobil Oil Corp.), and started working in their Dallas office. He spent 32 years with Mobil, leaving Dallas for California, Alaska, Colorado, Sumatra Island, Indonesia, and New Orleans where he retired in 1985, moving to Tallahassee in 2001.
J.B. is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Deel Vaughn, a daughter, Beth Vaughn and a close family friend, Ronda Sutphen, all of Tallahassee; a son, Ben Vaughn, daughter in law, Marijo, grandson, Justin and Granddaughter, Marisa, all of Purcellville, VA; and kind and loving friends and relatives in many places.
