Echo Isabel Borchert
      Echo Isabel Borchert, 94, of Nampa, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in a Meridian hospital. Echo was born on April 4, 1922 to Robert and Belle Thompson in Valentine, Nebraska. She was raised and educated in Nebraska until the age of 13 when she moved to Idaho with her family and graduated from Nampa High School.
      She married Walter Borchert on February 13, 1941 in Nampa. They made their home in Nampa where she assisted Walter on the dairy farm and worked as a stay at home mom and homemaker. Her true passion in life was sewing for the family which included men's suits, dresses, dolls, quilts, toys and coats. She also embroidered towels and clothing plus crocheted and knitted.
      She is survived by: her children, Doug (Linda) Borchert, Sandra (Rick) Anderson, Janice (Chuck) Schaefer and Arthur (Sheila) Borchert; 15 grandchildren (24 with spouses); 29 great grandchildren (34 with spouses); and 6 great great grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Belle Thompson; her husband Walter Borchert; granddaughter Melissa Schaefer-Farris; two brothers; and three sisters.
      A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Lutheran Brethren Church, 730 W. Roosevelt Ave., Nampa, ID. A private family burial will precede the services in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
