She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on April 28, 1935, the daughter of James and Beulah Moore, was raised in Pine Bluff Arkansas and moved to Muncie in 1971.
Mary Jo worked at Ball Memorial Hospital as a Medical Transcriber for many years and retired in 2002. She was an amazing mother and grandmother, devoting her life to her children. Mary Jo loved life more than anyone, embracing it, always staying positive and she never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years, Ed Dotson; her children, Barney Dotson, Perry Dotson (wife, Dena) and Laurie Jo Dotson; her grandchildren, Lindsay Dotson, Lane Dotson and Kirstie Jo Dotson; her dog, Joonie; her grand-dog, Bubba Jo and her sister-in-law and best friend, Zana Cloyd.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Dotson; her brother Jimmy Moore; and her parents.
