Harvey W. Zeitler, of Pound, Wisconsin, passed away January 4, 2014. He passed away from this earthly life at the age of 90 years at St. Vincent's Hospital in Green Bay, WI. He was born March 4, 1923 in the Town of Pound to the late Art and Esther (White) Zeitler.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coleman, WI. Harvey graduated from Coleman High School in 1940 and from Marinette County Normal School in 1942. He taught grades 1 through 8 at the Winesville School in Porterfield from 1942 to 1943.

He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 and participated in the D-Day Invasion of France aboard the LST-369. He also served as a medical technician with the U.S. Fleet Marines 3rd Corps Artillery in the Okinawa Campaign in World War II.

On December 8, 1945, he married Edna Seils at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in the Town of Beaver, WI.
They farmed together in the Town of Beaver from 1946 to 1992. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage and their union was blessed with five children. He loved the outdoors, working in the woods, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grover and a member of the St. John's Men's Club. After he retired, he served on the WELS Builders for Christ team for 14 projects.

Harvey is survived by his wife Edna of Pound, WI;
their children: Pastor John (Donna) of Belle Plaine, MN; Marilyn (Gary) Buss of Appleton, WI; Gerald of Watertown, WI; William (Susan) of Waukesha, WI and Annette (Jeffrey) Timm of Waukesha, WI;
19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
brothers: Kenneth (Thora) Zeitler of Monroe, WI; Daniel (Marge) Zeitler of Coleman, WI; Glen (Barbara) Zeitler of St. Louis, MO;
a sister Mildred (Dale) Berman of Peshtigo, WI;
sisters-in-law Marion Zeitler of Pound, WI; Marian Zeitler of Coleman, WI and LaVerne (Bob) Rouse of Pound, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters-in-law: Rhonda Zeitler and Shari Zeitler; brothers: Ellsworth, Earl, Arno, Gerhardt and Merlin "Cub"; sisters-in-law: June Zeitler, Dorothy Zeitler, Mary Zeitler, Viola Hartwig and a brother-in-law Lester Hartwig.

Visitation and the Christian funeral will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Grover. Military Rites performed by the Coleman American Legion. Burial in the church cemetery.
