Paul W. Hughes, 42, of Pickens, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at his residence.
He was the husband of Laura Melchin Hughes, and was a son of Rev. John Wesley and Jean Larson Hughes Jr. He was formerly a furniture repairman for Sofa Express, and was a member of Gap Hill Church of God.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and parents, include a daughter, Brittany Hughes of Pickens; two sons, Joshua Hughes of Pickens and Sean Gall of Hudson, Fla.; and four brothers, Pastor John Warner Hughes of Knoxville, Tenn., Mark Douglas Hughes of Brooksville, Fla., Dwight Randall Hughes of Cary, N.C., and Daren James Hughes of Hillsboro, Ore.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Allen Hughes and David Wayne Hughes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Gap Hill Church of God, with Pastor John W. Hughes and the Rev. Jonathan Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home, 935 Bethlehem Ridge Road, Pickens.
