Hazleton Standard Speaker; Tuesday, March 6, 1962:
Mrs. Anna (Zierdt) Rohde, 75, widow of William C.F. Rohde, died yesterday morning at 8:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Heastand, 697 North Locust street, following a lengthy illness. Born in West Hazleton, March 23, 1886, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Martha (Baum) Zierdt. She resided in West Hazleton until three years ago when she took up residence with her daughter. The deceased was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, served as secretary of the Service Class of Trinity Sunday School, Circle 10 of the Women of Trinity, life member of the Light Brigade of the church, and recording secretary of the West Hazleton Sons and Daughters of Liberty Lodge 201.

Her husband, William C.F. Rohde, died October 17, 1957. Surviving in addition to her daughter, Mrs. Carl (Elizabeth) Heastand, are a son, George E. Rohde, West Hazleton; two grandsons, Carl Heastand, Jr., and Edward G. Rohde; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Lemmond, Forty Fort.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Heastand residence, 697 North Locust street. Rev. E. Lawrence Bottiger, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will conduct the services. Interment will be in the Vine Street Cemetery. Friends may call from tomorrow evening until the time of the funeral.
