Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville for Juan Carlos Castro, 27, of Holtville, who died Wednesday in his home.

A determination of the cause of death is pending investigation.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Holtville. The Rev. Cecilio Moraga will officiate.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

Mr. Castro was born Oct. 31, 1974, in El Centro and was raised in Holtville.

He attended schools in El Centro and Holtville and graduated from Holtville High School in 1993, where he attended ROP classes in law enforcement and had served as lieutenant on the color guard.

Mr. Castro worked in security at various locations in the Imperial Valley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rocio Castro, on Feb. 26.

Survivors include his daughter, Misty Nicole Castro of Holtville; mother, Rosa Manriquez of Holtville; father and stepmother Arthur and Martha Castro of Imperial; brothers, Arthur Anthony Castro of El Centro and Juan de Dios Manriquez of Holtville; sister, Rosa Marina Manriquez of Holtville; step-brother, Joaquin Lira of Imperial; and maternal grandmother, Rosa Miller of Holtville.
