Mrs. Thompson was born July 12, 1926 at Barnes, the daughter of Carl and Christine (Stigge) Rodick.
She grew up in the Barnes area. She married Ernest Riechers on Dec. 29, 1948 and they made their home in Green. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1969. She moved to Manhattan in 1989. She married Marvin Thompson on Dec. 31, 1989. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2008. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Manhattan. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one son, Reggie Riechers and wife Patty of Manhattan; one stepdaughter, Connie Visicacion and husband Nemecio of Ada, Okla.; two stepsons, Mark Thompson and wife Joni of Arizona and Keith Thompson and wife Becky of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Arlene Hartner and husband Harold of Clay Center and Juanita Cassidy and husband Allen of Denver, Colo. two brothers, Norman Rodick of Wichita and Lawrence Rodick of Wichita; and several step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel, Clay Center, with Pastor Mike Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
