Bohumil "Boh" J. Kral was born on 27 May 1916 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, to Joseph Kral (2 Aug 1885 – 14 Apr 1970) and Katherine (Katerina) Rosek [Catharina Rozka] Kral (22 Sep 1886 - 22 Mar 1936).

Boh died 28 Dec 2002 in Burlingame, San Mateo County, California, USA. He grew up in Muscoda, Grant County, Wisconsin, with his parents and brothers Benjamin Kral (4 Sep 1918 – 26 Nov 1995) and Joseph "Joe" Kral (17 Feb 1921 – 7 Nov 1990).

He became a private pilot and earned a degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison before joining the Marine Corps in 1940. He served as an artillery commander in World War II in Guadalcanal, reaching the rank of captain by the end of the war. He was promoted to major in the Marine Corps Reserves.

He worked as a building contractor before taking a position with the Veterans Administration. He retired in 1981.

Boh married Margery Rose Bullert on 22 Dec 1945 when he was stationed in the San Francisco area as a Marine. Margery was born 5 July 1922 in Webster, Day County, South Dakota, to Marie "Mary" Clara Brakhage (5 Aug 1892 – 21 Nov 1966) and Otto Daniel Wilhelm Bullert (18 Aug 1890 – 10 Jul 1975). She grew up in Webster, Day County, SD, where she graduated from Webster High School. She died on 23 Feb 1993 in Redwood City, San Mateo County, California.

Boh is interred next to his wife Margery in a vault in Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, San Mateo County, California.

Five children were born of this marriage: Stephen Clark Kral, Daniel Sheldon Kral, Vivian Laurie Kral, Phillip Lowell Kral, and Juliet Marie Kral.
