OBITUARY-
Theodore "Ted" L. Seufert, 93, formerly of Austin, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Heritage Care Center, Mason City, Iowa.
He was born June 6, 1909, in Lebonan, Mo., to Macarius and Barbara (Schmidt) Seufert. He grew up and attended school in Mt. Angel, Ore. He moved to Austin in 1938.
On May 28, 1940, he married Magdalene Loecher in Johnsburg.
Ted worked for several years at the Hormel Food Corporation until his retirement. He moved to Mason City, Iowa in January 1998.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and woodworking.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne Bateman, Virginia, Minn.; Sarah Seufert and husband, Dipankar Sanyal, Minneapolis; Mary Brill, Coral Springs, Fla.; CeCe and Chuck Mayer, Mason City, Iowa; sons and daughter-in-law, Jim Seufert, Brooklyn Park; Nico CearGeo, Shoreview; Dianne Seufert, Brooklyn Park; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Dante, Austin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Joe Seufert; son-in-law, David Bateman; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Seufert.
Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at the funeral home.
Service: 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Casket Bearers will be Jenny Petersen, Jill Seufert, Jessica Winkelaar, Jeremy Bateman, Benjamin Bateman, Soumya Sanyal, Marc Sanyal, Stephen Seufert, Matthew Seufert, Laura Brill, Owen Brill, Ava Brill and Andy Mayer.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Austin.
