Mr. Maier was born in Germany and came to this country when 16 years old. He had been employed with the General Electric Company here many years and before his retirement five years ago was general foreman of shop 16. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Besides his wife, Johanna Lunow Maier, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. E. H. Horstkotte of Erie, PA. The sons and daughters living in this city are Dr. Paul Maier, Mrs. Julia Hartig, Mrs. Emma Vivan, Mrs. Louis Guckemus and Mrs. John Queern. Dr. Roland Maier of New York, R. V. Maier of Portland Oregon, and G. B Maier of Louisville KY, also survive.
