Charles W. Shaheen, 82, of St. Albans passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.

He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, St. Albans.

Charlie will be remembered for creating and marketing his own business, which he built from the ground up, Markay Tornado Products.

He was also co-owner of Markay Industries, with his sister, Katherine, which is located in Wisconsin.

Charles was a graduate of Charleston High School and attended Milwaukee School of Engineering after serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles "Chuck" and Jeannette Shaheen of Richmond, Va., Mary Beth Shaheen of Nitro, Laura Ann and Tim Sypolt of St. Albans, and Mark Steven and Susan Shaheen of Rock Branch; one sister, Katherine Shaheen of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 23, at Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor John Elliott officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Charlie will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
