Wayne O. Ellyson, 69, died Friday in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital, Elwood.

Mr. Ellyson was born in Marion. He lived in Elwood since 1993. He married Joyce Hannah 42 years ago. She died Nov. 23, 1992.


He was a salesman for Playtex Apparel Inc. for 27 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Marion. He worked as a sales manager for Sutter's Dairy from 1953 to 1965, He was past master of the Elwood Quincy Masonic Lodge No. 230, past worthy patron of the Order of East- ern Star, past president of the Elwood Rotary Club and a former member of the Marion Rotary Club. He was a member of the Marion Chapter of the Sons of Harmony Barber Shop Chorus.


Survivors include three daughters, Andrea (Douglas) Banning, Anderson, Sue

(David) Reynolds, and Mary Noblesville, (Rodger) Eppl, Fort Wayne; a brother, Ernest Ellyson, Elwood; three sisters, Anna Brass and Leatha (Fred) Thatcher, both of Fairmount, and Mary (Paul) Edwards, Norman, Okla.; and a grandchild.


Services were held Tuesday in Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, with Rev. Jack Wachenschwanz officiating. Burial was made in Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County.
