From the June 21, 1967 issue of the Billings Gazette:

Funeral service for PFC Franklin D. Chopper, 22, of Brockton, will be Thursday at 2 pm at Fort Kipp Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gene Harbaugh of Poplar officiating.

Private Chopper died June 13 in action in Vietnam. Burial with full military rites will be in Fort Kipp Cemetery.

He was born Feb 24, 1945 at Poplar and lived in Brockton until he entered the service.

He was assigned to Co. A, 4th Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, and had been in Vietnam about three months.

Surviving are his stepmother, Mrs. Lucille Chopper, of Brockton; three brothers, Roy Longtree and Abraham Chopper, both of Poplar, and Vernon Longtree of Brockton; two sisters, Aletha and Priscilla Chopper of Brockton.
