On Feb. 16, 1957, Curly was united in marriage to Ann Hubel at St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City. He farmed near Maynard for a time and in 1968 he started Impact Plastics in Maynard. Curly always kept active and was involved in numerous government and community endeavors. He served in the Minnesota State Legislature as a Representative, served as Chippewa County Recorder, held the position of mayor in Maynard, served on the Maynard School Board, the Maynard City Council and the Maynard Elevator Board. He was a charter member of the Maynard Lion's Club and served as its president.
Curly was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, discussing politics, traveling with family and playing pinochle with his friends. He also looked forward to his time spent at his cabin on Green Lake.
In the early evening hours of Saturday August 29, 2009, Curly was called from this life at his lake residence near Spicer, Minnesota. He was 77 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Ann; his children Julie, Mary, John and Jane; nine grandchildren; one brother, Arnie; two sisters: Rosie and Evlyn.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters: Loraine Dammermann and Linda Hubel.
