SALINAS, Berjilio M. "Billy" – of Flint, age 88, passed away October 27, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2500 N. Franklin Ave., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Santhiyagu Arockiyasamy celebrant. Burial, with Military Honors, will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home; 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423 A Rosary will be prayed 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. On Thursday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Billy was born in Sabinal, Texas on March 24, 1924, son of the late Catarino and Dolorez (Martinez) Salinas. He married Aurora Lopez in 1947. She preceded him in death. Billy proudly served his country with the U. S. Army. Billy retired from Buick Motor Division with 33 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Billy had a great love for his grandchildren.

Billy is survived by his children, Dolores (Wally) Moreno, Bill (Margaret) Salinas, Roberto Salinas and Arturo Salinas (Dawn Reyes); grandchildren, Lisa Griswold, Wally Moreno, Matt Moreno, Dominic Salinas, Anna Salinas, Alicia Salinas, Adam Salinas, Ernie Lopez Salinas, Jena Salinas, Kelina Salinas, Justina Salinas, Daniel Salinas, Savannah and Casey Salinas; six great-grandchildren; sister, Ourelia Lopez; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernesto Salinas; infant son, Arturo Salinas; sisters, Maria Chavez, Antonia Davis, Lola Alejandro and brothers, Juan and Jesus Salinas. Billy's family gives a special thank you to his niece, Cory Pacheco, for all of her help and to the nurses at Hurley Medical Center for their care.
