She was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Chicago, to Arthur and Nora (O'Connor) Passineau. On May 28, 1938, she married Bradford Bigalke in Chicago, He died on March 1, 1968. On Oct. 7, 1977, she married William J. Donnelly in Marengo.
She retired to Florida in 1979 with her second husband and returned to Rockford in 2001.
She was a found member of the Rosarian Council at Sacred Heart Church in Marengo in 1963. She was the city clerk in Marengo from 1973 to 1977. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford. She was a "pink lady" at St. Joseph Hospital in Belvidere and at a hospital in Barefoot Bay, Fla. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, using the computer, e-mail and sending greeting cards to her family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Barb) Bigalke; a daughter, Mary Witmer; Bill's daughter, Joan (Benny) Lynch; eight grandchildren, Lisa Bigalke, Sara (David) Eastabrooks, David and Debbie Witmer, Amy (Greg) Cook, Jacalyn Purfield, and Jill and William Lynch; and seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Jacob Eastabrooks, Ryan and Ben Cook, and Casey, Shannon and Brendon Purfield.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband on April 10, 2003; and a son, Peter Bigalke on March 21, 1997.
The visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, until the funeral Mass is celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 323 N. Taylor St., Marengo. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorials in her name would be appreciated to Sacred Heart Church.
