Obituary: Francis Michael "Frank" Kathman.

DEATH: "Frank Kathman, farmer of southwest of Garvin for the past 15 years, died suddenly of a heart attack late Friday afternon as he was doing his chores. He was 68 years of age. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Ohman Funeral Home (Tracy) with the Rec. Richard O'Connor in charge of the services. Interment was in the local cemetery. Frank Michael Kathamn was born May 18, 1888, at Carroll (County) Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kathman. After his marriage to Ora Murray, Nov. 25 1916 at Graettinger, Iowa the couple went to farming in that community and resided there about 25 years before moving to the Garvin Farm in 1941. Mr. and Mrs. Kathman were the parents of 13 children, 11 of whom survive. The children are: Merle and Junior, both of Tracy; Lester, Mrs. John Bruns and Mrs. Raymond Danielson, all of Garvin; Gerald, Donald and Mrs. Alvin Bakke, all of Slayon; Francis of Granite Falls; Mrs. Vera Kirk of Lake Wilson and Joanne at home. Besides Mrs. Kathman, Two sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Mary Knobbe of Spearville, Kansas, and Rose Kathman of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Pallbearers were: Allie Lien of Tracy and N.M. Mitchell, Henry Wentland, Ed Nelson, Jay Kirk and Ernest Colburn, all of Garvin."
