Irene Kukes Michael, 87, passed away on Sept. 19, 2013. She was born April 8, 1926, the sixth child of Jacob and Kathrine (Knaub) Kukes. On Nov. 6, 1948, she married Phillip H. Michael Jr. in Laurel To this union three children were born.

Survivors include sons Dennis, of Park City, and Randy (Tracey), of Laurel, and daughter Diane, of Park City; granddaughters Kimberly Benson and Bethany Monk; grandsons Jordan and Jacob Michael; and six great-grandchildren; special adopted grandchildren Richard (Kim) Flemmer Kaitlyn, Brandon and Megan, Leslie Flemmer and Zoee, Laurie (Joel) Mikesell and Ian; brothers Herman (Carol) Kukes and William (Jesse) Kukes and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip; sisters Anna, Marie, Rosie and Martha and brothers George and Donald.

Viewing will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel in Laurel with graveside services following at 1 p.m. at the Park City Cemetery.
