Icie Huckstep
ARCOLA — Mrs. Icie Mae Huckstep, 91, of Arcola, died at 3 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 19, 1998) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, near Mattoon.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998 at the Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with the Rev. Jess Adams officiating. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Huckstep was born Nov. 22, 1906, in Douglas County, a daughter of Samuel and Edna Scott Anderson. She married Earl Huckstep Sr., in Kankakee on Aug. 25, 1928. He preceded her in death on May 15, 1981.
Survivors include one son, Earl Huckstep, Jr. of Arcola; five daughters, Norma Jean Hudson of Humboldt, Edna Daniels, Sandra Clausen, and Phyllis Stanton of Arcola, Mary Jane Wyatt of Murphysboro, Ill.; one brother, Leonard Anderson of Arcola; 31 grandchildren; and 63 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Harold and David; grandchildren, Barbara Snider and Thomas Hudson; great-granddaughters, Alisha Hudson and Jessica Huckstep; brothers, Orville, Howard, John; and sister, Goldie.
Mrs. Huckstep was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church. She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lincolnland Visiting Nurses.
