Funeral services were held Monday, March 28, 2005 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky., for Emma Jean Tackett, 75, of Thealka, Ky., who passed away Friday, March 25 2005 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky. Mrs. Tackett was born June 5, 1929 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Millard and Emma Ratliff Vanhoose. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John F. Tackett; two sons, Frank and Richard Tackett. Surviving are one son, Manuel Tackett of Oil Springs, Ky.; one brother, Mitchell Vanhoose of Urbana, Ohio; five sisters, Margie Ward of Thealka, Ky., Kathern Wilcox of Louisa, Ky., Virgie Picklesimer of Woodstock, Ohio, Edna and Irene Castel, both of Urbana, Ohio; three grandchildren. The service was officiated by Hubert Slone, with burial in the Ratliff Cemetery at Turner Branch, Ky. Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
