The 1905 Wisconsin State census the parents give their birth location as Germany, however later in 1930 census, his parents were enumerated as born in Wisconsin.

World War I Veteran enlisting May 3. 1918 Honorable discharge Feb 12, 1919. State served was Wisconsin. USN H.A. 2/c.
