Danny E Friese, 23, of Stewardson, died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle-car accident in Stewardson. According to Shelby county Sheriff Robert Collins, Friese's motorcycle collided with a car driven by Edward H Zalman, 74 of Stewardson at 2:50 PM Sunday. Zalman was reportedly turning into his driveway at the time of the incident.
Friese was pronounced dead on arrival at St Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham at 3"20 Pm. An inquest is pending.
Funeral services for Danny Friese were held at 1:30 PM Tuesday in Trinity Lutheran Church Stewardson. Rev George Williams conducted the services. Caskets bearers were Dave Baumgarten, Gene Lankow, Dave Tabbert, Donnie Debolt, Bernie Ulhorn and Ronald Schultz. Burial was in Stewardson Cemetery. Brummerstedt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He was born in Effingham County a son of Clinton and Martha Evelyn Carroll Friese. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Stewardson and was a carpenter.
Survivors include his father of Stewardson, mother Mrs. Martha Blair of Altamont, step mother Mrs Louise Friese of Stewardson, brothers, Eddie of Mode, Daniel of Stewardson, step-sister Diane Adams of Stewardson, step brother Dale Adams of Stewardson, half-brother Michael Blair of Altamont, grandmother Mrs Anna Friese of Stewardson, and grandfather John Carroll of Stewardson
