Dorothy Smith McLeod passed away Thursday, September, 26, 2013 in Mechanicsville, VA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. McLeod; her parents, Alice S. Carnohan and Braxton C. Smith; and a son, Michael E. McLeod.

Dorothy is survived by her children, William E. McLeod, III, Stephen R. McLeod (Robin), Kenneth W. McLeod (Flora), Donald W. McLeod, Judith M. Veorse (Jim), and Richard K. McLeod (Laurie); a brother, Clyde Carnohan (Frances); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and brought her much joy.

A graveside service will be held at 11am Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11am at the cemetery. Dorothy's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Alzheimer's Association, 2217 Princess Anne Street #106-1F, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Online condolences may be expressed to Mrs. McLeod's family at foundandsons.com.
