On Sept. 25, 2005 Richard Willis Haumann went to be with his Heavenly Father, surrounded by his loved ones. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. A funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Burial will follow at Kuna Cemetery. Richard was born in Caldwell on Jan. 10, 1947 to Richard L. Haumann and Evelin N. Haumann. He grew up in the Kuna area, learning and helping his father on the farm. He raised his own cattle and started building his Chevy Super Sport, which he raced at Meridian Speedway. In 1969 he met and married Nancy K. Cowger; together they raised their son, Allen. Richard was the first paramedic the city of Kuna had. He worked for Larry Barnes Chevrolet, and for his father-in-law in Kuna. In 1974, he became a ditch rider for Nampa-Meridian Irrigation District, where he was later promoted to manager. He moved to Twin Falls in 1990 and became the general manager for Twin Falls Canal Company. His wife became ill and they returned to Kuna. He took care of her until her death in 1992. Richard has been superintendent of Kuna city parks, a job he loved, building and maintaining parks for all to enjoy. He was a great leader, a loving, caring, patient, honest, trustworthy, devoted, compassionate, spiritual man. There was no one who met him that did not instantly like him. There was nothing he couldn´t fix or find a solution to. All who knew him learned from him. He was an incredible man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a Mason and still a member of the El Korah Shrine in Boise, where he was in the Directors Staff. He drove the Shrine fire truck in every parade in the valley; he so loved to see the smiles on the children´s faces that watched. In 1997 he met and instantly fell in love with Tina M. Heinze. All who knew them could see the love they shared for each other. "Lord, let there be Harleys in Heaven so me and my brothers can ride." The two of them enjoyed their Harley Davidson riding, and traveled many miles together. (They honeymooned in Sturgis, S.D.). They also traveled in their RV to all family reunions and other various trips. He loved his children and his precious grandchildren, Brett, Brandon, Brogan, and little Katie. The couple devoted a lot of their time caring for his parents as they grew older and he was always there to help do whatever needed done. He is survived by his loving wife Tina; sons Allen, Joe, and Jarod; daughter Jennifer; son-in-law Kelly Shaul; his mother Evelin Haumann; stepmother Dorothy Haumann; sisters Caren Hutton (Butch), and Patty Miller (Gene); brothers-in-law Chuck Felton (Pam), Pat Maglaughlin (Helen), and George Heinze; sisters-in-law Kathy Winn (Clayton), and Barbara Gray (Chris); grandchildren Brett, Brandon, and Brogan Shurtz and Kaitlyn Shaul, who he treasured so very much; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death one month ago by his father Richard L. Haumann. The family wishes to thank the St. Luke´s CCU Unit, especially Grant, Connie, Lezi, and Mike; who were all so kind and thoughtful to them and their loved one.
