Annville native Kenneth F. Stoessel, 79, of Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg, died of natural causes Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, in the Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth B. Light Stoessel, with whom he would have celebrated at 61st wedding anniversary on April 13.


Born June 4, 1922, he was a son of the late Leonard F. and Esther Wenrich Stoessel. He retired in 1984 from Harrisburg Packaging, where he had worked as a pressman. He attended Grantham Brethren in Christ Church and was a member of Messiah Village's Singing Men. He was a soloist at area churches, a gold medalist in bowling at the Pennsylvania senior games and a volunteer at Messiah Village. He also was an avid hunter.


Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons K. Rodney, husband of Sandra Stoessel of Hummelstown, Timothy, husband of Jennifer Dallas of Seattle, WA; daughters Donna L., wife of Daniel Salerno of Annville, and Merrie B., wife of Daniel Wyrick of Carlisle; a sister, Earlene Farran of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Laurie Salerno, a brother, Clifford Stoessel, and a sister, Marian Lehman.
