On 8 July 1872, Mr. John Roth married the well-brought-up Miss Franziska Albers, who was born on 25 March 1856 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Miss Roth's parents moved in June 1856 to Guttenberg, Iowa, where her mother passed away on 14 August 1873, and the good "Vater Albers," well prepared with the Last Rights, followed her in death on 29 July 1878. "Mutter Albers" was born in the county seat of Melle, in the Prussian District of Osnabrück, Province of Hanover. The father, however, was born in Bückelte, District of Meppen, in the above-named province. "Vater Albers" was a virtuous and hard-working man. He immigrated to America on 4 September 1838, and he reached the age of 62 years, 10 months, and 3 days.
