She was born September 21, 1859, in Ellington township, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McCormick. She had lived in this vicinity all her life. When a child she joined the Presbyterian church. On January 28, 1879, she was united in marriage to Squire Campbell, who died 26 years ago. To this union eight children were born, two preceding her in death, one in infancy and Mrs. Emma Swunk of Mendon, in 1920.
In 1899 she was married to Robert Ahalt and to this union two children were born, one dying in infancy.
Mrs. Ahalt is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Clara McCarthy, Mrs. Mary Hasting, Mrs. Eva Grimmer of Ursa, and Miss Birdie Ahalt at home; three sons, Robert of Quincy, Frank and Charles at home, and one brother, Robert McCormick, who made his home with his sister. Six grandchildren also survive.
