J. Anne (McDonald) Emde, 79 years of age, entered life eternal at the Weymouth Heath Care Center Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, following a period of declining health. She was born in Boston and resided in Dorchester before moving of Weymouth in 1969. Anne was a graduate of Saint Margarets School in Dorchester and received nurses training at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. She was later employed at United Trust Company, Boston, the Factory Mutual Insurance Company, Boston and South Shore Bank in East Weymouth. She also worked for the Milton Openshaw Pharmacy in East Weymouth before becoming an accountant for the Weymouth Tax Collectors Office. Anne was an active parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Parish in East Weymouth, where for a period of time she cared for the altar linens. Anne was a homemaker devoted to her family. Anne enjoyed bowling at the East Weymouth bowling alleys over the years. She is survived by her devoted husband, John C. Lefty Emde. She was the loving mother of Michael C. Emde of East Weymouth. She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Allison J. McCauliffe married to Kris McCauliffe of San Diego, Calif., Brittany M. Emde of Bridgewater and Courtney A. Emde of Weymouth. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Jean (MacDonald) McDonald. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street (opposite the U.S. Post Office in Jackson Square), East Weymouth, Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m. prior to a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broad Street, East Weymouth, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
