Anna M. Hewer, 89, of Yankton, passed away Sunday, December 2, 1990, in Yankton, South Dakota.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, at the Memmo Cemetery in Menno. Aisenbrey-Kostel Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Alma Marie Kaufman was born April 12, 1901, on the family farm in Yankton County, the daughter of Peter and Maria (Boe) Kaufman. She married Paul Gerhard Hewer on March 26, 1925, in Menno. Together they farmed the Hewer farm in northern Yankton County. In 1934, they moved to Oregon, where they lived for a year. They then moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where they lived for several years, until they retired and moved back to Menno. They later made their home in Freeman. Paul preceded her in death on January 27, 1981. She later moved to Yankton in 1988.

She is survived by two nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brother, Arthur and Peter Kaufman, and two sisters, Lulu Geraldson and Alma Roach.
