BIG BAY ­ Ludwig "Ike" Prosen, age 90 of Big Bay, died Monday morning, September 19, 2005 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming.

Mr. Prosen was born on July 23, 1915 in Big Bay, a son of the late Ludwig and Mary (Valencich) Prosen, Sr.
Ike retired as security guard at the Huron Mountain Club after many years of service. In his lifetime, he had also been employed at the L.S. & I. Railroad as well as the Bay Cliff Health Camp.

Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Eastley of Marquette; two nieces, Kathryn (Clarence) L'Huillier and Barbara (Robert) Mohar, both of Marquette; three nephews, John Eastley and Charles Eastley, both of Marquette and Frank (Jeanette) Spehar of Bellflower, CA; seven grand nephews, Eric Eastley of Marquette, Robert Spehar and Gregory Spehar, both of California, Richard L'Huillier of Panama City, FL, Jeff L'Huillier of Canton, MI, Robert Mohar of DePere, WI, Steve Mohar of Newberry and Joe Mohar of Marquette; five grand nieces, Mandy Eastley of Los Angeles, CA, Wendy December of Rochester Hills, MI, Susan Scarbrough of Plainfield, IL, Mary Styers of Chactaw, OK and Anne Schumer of Chassell. Also surviving are several great grand nieces and nephews as well as special friend and neighbor, Steve LaBar. Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, Rudy Prosen, a sister, Louise Spehar and a grand nephew, Michael L'Huillier.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Powell Township Cemetery in Big Bay.

Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are kindly asked to consider a charity of the donor's choice.
