Robert W. Bonner of Eugene, Oregon died July 11. He was born in Coronado, Calif.
October 10, 1926 and was the son of Irl William and Alice Wolfe Bonner. He was a
resident of South Bay area for 65 years.

Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and model airplane building. Robert was a 1944
graduate of Southwest Junior High and a 1948 graduate of Chula Vista High. He
served in the Navy from May 1944 to 1946.

After the Navy he learned to fly at Wolfe Airpark, owned and operated by his
uncle, Charles F. Wolfe. September 7, 1952 he married Helen May Peavey of
Nestor, Calif. and just celebrated their 50th anniversary last September.

From 1950 to 1969 he worked for Paul L. Smith, Standard Oil Distributor of Palm
City. He then worked for H. G. Fenton Sand & Rock as a Quality Control
Technician, until 1985 when he retired.

Robert is survived by his wife Helen, son Robert Bonner, daughters Linda Ross
and Cindy Barrows, brothers Neil and Irl Bonner, seven grandchildren, and five
great-grandchildren.

Service and interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Greenwood Memorial
Park, Salli Lynn Chapel, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego. Published in U-T San
