John Ronald Augustyniak Obituary

AUGUSTYNIAK John Ronald Ron came into the world crying as his family rejoiced... now we are crying as Ron rejoices. John "Ron" Augustyniak, 69, answered God's call as the 6 a.m. church bells rang on Parkside Boulevard. Ron chose to express God's love through his marriage to Donna (Kaczmarek). They celebrated 45 years together after having been married on August 26, 1961, at St. Anthony's Church in Toledo. Ron was the proud father of sons, Jeffrey Ronald (Lesley), Gregory Ronald (Kimmy), Mark John Anthony (Becky Sue), John Joseph "Jay" and Michael John; daughters, Kathryn Marie (Jeff Wawrzyniak), Jennifer Marie (Steve Bodi) and Laura Marie (Kevin Davis). Ron was also a loving "Dziadz" to Nick, Jake, Scott, Katie, Trent, Kayla, Haley, Anthony John "AJ", Kassie, Slate and John Barton. Ron was preceded in death by is father, John Henry Augustyniak; his mother, Julia Szpara Augustyniak and his father-in-law, Tony Kaczmarek. He is survived by sisters, Marian (Tom) Kowalski, Lorraine (Chuck) Kowalski and Ruth (Ray) Hemmig; his loving mother-in-law, Martha Kaczmarek and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron "Augie" to his friends, served in the military as a cook and honed the skills he was so well known for. He worked for A&P Grocery Stores as a butcher for over 25 years before starting his own meat market in Oregon, OH. The meat market led Ron to the family business - Augustyniak's Family Catering, retiring in 2003. Through his catering business, Ron shared many special moments with family, friends and the people of Toledo for over 20 years. A holiday did not go by without Augie's kielbasa on tables across the country. "On the Road Again" became their theme song in retirement. All through their lives, and especially in retirement, Ron and Donna were actively involved at Gesu Church, St. Anthony's Church and numerous volunteer service groups across the city in a celebration of their Catholic faith. Ron's family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home on 3838 Airport Highway. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Gesu Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Toledo Hospital for their genuine care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ron's memory to the Claver House, Helping Hand of St. Louis and Gesu Church. Published in Toledo Blade from Aug. 29 to Aug. 30, 2006
