EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP — Eleanor N. Mihal, 82, of 3900 Upper Road, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at the Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville.
Born Oct. 10, 1931, in East Cameron Township, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine (Engle) Tobias.
She was a 1949 graduate of Shamokin High School.
On Aug. 1, 1953, in Marion Heights, she married Dr. Victor Mihal, who survives.
She was a former member of St. Mary's Church, Shamokin, where she was a very active in all their activities. She was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
Eleanor loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She also loved to travel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Dr. Gary Mihal and his wife, Judy, of Fleetwood, and Dr. Victor Mihal, of South Boston, Va.; a daughter, Lynn Gionta, of Jenkins Township; six grandchildren, Jenny, Heather, Christy, Jessica, Stephanie and Alex; six great-grandchildren, Mike, Jake, Cassie, Greg, Lauren and Henrie; two brothers, Darwin Tobias, of Gowen City, and Jack Tobias, of Coal Township; a sister, Margaret Reiprich, of Shamokin, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, Beatrice Weikel, Betty Shadle, Shirley Taplin, Fara Daminsky, Dorothy Russell and Edna Schleig.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, Leonard J. Lucas Jr., supervisor.
