Mr. Michael A. Distler, age 56 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, May 23, 2008, at his home. Mike was born April 9, 1952, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Anthony J. and Agnes M. Rademan Distler. His mother, Agnes Distler survives in Jefferson City, Mo. A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Mike was a 1970 graduate of Russellville High School. He attended Lincoln University. Mike owned and operated Capital Installers for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus; a member of the Lions Club; a member of Ducks Unlimited; and a member of the Central Missouri Homebuilders Assn. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, cooking, and gardening. Mike loved time spent with his family. Survivors include: his mother, Agnes Distler of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Sharon Gentges of Jefferson City, Mo. and Carolyn Schupp and her husband, Paul of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers, Ronald J. Distler and his wife, Sharon of Jefferson City, Mo., Douglas R. Distler and his wife, Carol of Russellville, Mo., and Rodney G. Distler and his wife, Lisa of Jefferson City, Mo.; 15 nieces and nephews; Craig Boes, Sheila Boes, Michael Schupp, Emily Schupp, Dan Schupp, Deborah Distler, Amy Distler, Kyle Distler, Ryan Distler, Adam Distler, Trent Distler, Luke Distler, Drew Distler, Missy Abramovitz, and Tyler Distler; three great nieces and nephews, Megan Boes, Katie Boes, and Caleb Boes. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Distler and one brother, Keith Distler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at St. Martins Catholic Church with the Reverend Ed Schmidt, and the Reverend John Groner concelebrating. Interment will be at the St. Martins Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at St. Martins Church from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service to be conducted at 7:00 p.m. and a visitation at the church from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or St. Martins Church.
