Jeanette E. Oswalt Ebel, "The Crochet Shoe Lady," 93, passed away on her birthday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson. She was born in 1920, in Hutchinson, the daughter of George and Rachel Wright Oswalt. She was a 1939 graduate of Hutchinson High School. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, she was a retired school bus driver for Buhler School District.

She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church, Hutchinson.

On Dec. 10, 1945, she married Rolland Ebel in Hutchinson. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2005. Survivors include: daughter, Gay and husband Larry, Hutchinson; granddaughter, Lauri Hume, Hutchinson; two nieces, Pat Jantzen, Hutchinson, and Sandy Ng and husband Marcus, California; and nephew, Jerry Oswalt and wife Lois, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jack Oswalt, and two sisters, Lucille Rowland and Flossie Oswalt.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Mitchell Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastors Robert Albin and Jerry Nowack presiding. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. that afternoon, all at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Hutchinson.
