Mary Jane Shimkus, 82, of Springfield, passed away at 3:02 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at St. John's Hospital.
Mary Jane was born January 16, 1931 in Springfield, the daughter of John C. and Laura J. McCormick Gust. She married Felix P. Shimkus on July 17, 1948; he preceded her in death.
Mary Jane worked for the State of Illinois Comptroller Office for 36 years and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Phyllis, Edna Mae, Frances Ann, Lois, Nina, and Ruth; and one daughter, Louise Shimkus.
She is survived by one son, Felix ; one daughter, Rebecca ; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kay and Margaret
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
